"Birthday Orchid"

The above original watercolors are based on photos taken recently.  The

"Happy Birthday Robin"
I couldn't wait to use this fun stamp set by Stampers
Anonymous for my daughter's birthday!  The image was
stamped on glossy paper, then cut out and put on
dimensional dots.  Layering stencils were used for the
background.  I am loving these stencils!

This fun birthday card's theme was perfect for the birthday boy
who received it!  Background was created using layering
stencils, and rubber stamps.

"Heron - Mulberry"
The heron and background are done in watercolor, on
Arches 140# cold press.  Mulberry paper was added to the
left portion of the scene, for texture.  It was put over a wash of
Liquitex matte medium and then washed over with the same medium.

Altered Altoid Tin
Here is a mini watercolor palette created out of an
Altoid tin.  The top and sides were so fun to do!  This tiny
palette holds two empty plastic tubs from gum, with a separator
cut from grunge.  Each 'bubble' can hold a watercolor.  Great for travel
or small projects!  After all my hard work it might get a little messy when I paint,
but who cares!  So fun to do!

Herons are so fun to watch, as they proudly
strut around.  This heron is from a photograph taken
while we were enjoying Florida on one spring break.

"Where is my Spirit?"
Poetry Art Journal, Page 7
"Sunburned Sweetly"
This is not new art, it is art that was published some
time ago.  But how wonderful to celebrate summer, after
this long and tiring winter!

Watercolor on Arches 140# cold press.  This is a 'study' of
water flow and effect, from an old lesson book.

"Black Swans in Florida"
This oil painting is done from a photo I took while enjoying
Florida a few years ago.  We were visiting a zoo, and other
nature reserves, and parks.  This lovely scene was a 'must' for
an oil.  This original is 14 x 11, on canvas.

"Man With Dog"
Oil on canvas.  Every Thursday, at our local library, artists from the area
get together and do art.  It is multi-media, whatever we prefer. Mostly we
use oil paint and watercolor, and often acrylics.  I am amazed at the talent
in this group, and love the friendship, feedback, and validation!

"Sewing Card"
Made for someone who loves anything sewing
related.  A very fun collage to do.

Wanting to improve my watercolor technique skills, and using an
old technique magazine, I completed all the lessons in the book.  Even though
I have  taken many watercolor classes, I still found fun techniques to retry or learn.

Masking Technique

"Floral Bouquet"
A technique using white!

"Ocean Spray"

"The Old  Barn"
Very little sketching, using the brush to draw shadows
and any lines.

Karin's "Kitty"
Original oil on canvas, 11x14.  I promised my sister Karin I would paint
her very favorite cat!  This was such a fun undertaking, though a little
testy at times!  My goal was to capture those naughty eyes!
