"Dew Drop"
Original watercolor art on Arches 140# cold press.

Upon leaving "the Land of Possibilities", we observed how beautiful the
early morning dew sparkled on the foliage.  One particular dew drop
appeared to be more shiny and bright, and seemed to brim with life!
Looking deep into the tiny droplet, we saw a little child, happily playing on the
beach by the ocean!  A whole ocean in a dew drop - imagine that!
We reluctantly left this magical land, vowing one day to return...

"Iris Fairy"
Back in "The Land of Possibilities", darkness of night had fallen.
We stumbled upon a patch of large, beautiful Irises.
Each one had a bright light shining from inside.
Upon looking closely, we saw the tiniest of fairies.
Barely two inches tall!  She told us secrets!
She said she was shining light, peace, love and hope for all the world!
We left feeling very happy!

"Reflections"
This watercolor is a study in reflections.  The motivation came
from a tropical scene in a techniques book of lessons.

Nothing is more beautiful than the play of reflections on water.
I think painting water and it's reflective qualities is one of my
most satisfying watercolor projects!  I hope you enjoy!

An imaginary landscape study, done by playing around with brush strokes
experimenting on distant trees and sky effect.  Of course, in one of
my favorite colors...indigo blue.   This took about 30 minutes total,
with drying times between the far distant and closer images.  I accomplished
this Thursday when we local artists got together for a little painting fun!

Still in "...the Land of Possibilities", we came upon a tall
and huge tree.  Under this tree was a fallen, and much decayed
branch.  And under this branch was a tiny magical patch of
brightly colored mushrooms.  We decided to explore!

"...the Land of Possibilities"
Original watercolor art by Colleen Dequaine
Watercolors on Arches 140# cold press.

I dreamed of going to a secret and magical land, where anything
was possible....where colorful snails skimmed along the surface of
sparkling waters, and where the skirts of the mountain fairies formed
the waterfalls cascading down the faraway mountains.
It is a secret place, a safe place, and magical, where only the 'inner
child' is allowed to enter!
