"Pheasant"

This is based on a photograph I took of a wild pheasant that
came to our bird feeders one day last summer looking for some food!
The pheasant took me completely off guard that morning, but I did
happen to have my camera with me.  So lovely...

"Sunshine's Promise"

While storms on the ocean are frightening, they are also exciting and
beautiful!  On spring break at Cocoa Beach, Florida, there was a dramatic
storm with much lightning.  As things broke up and the sun started to come
out, I saw the most beautiful rays from the sun peeking through the clouds,
and knew it would be a fun and challenging watercolor project.

"Bird at Cocoa Beach, FL"

Here is another study in reflections, and also a challenge to
complete the piece in minimal time.  The bird was covered with
Pebeo drawing to preserve the white.  Salt was added for texture in the
water above, and splattering with a toothbrush was added closer to shore.

This art is based on a photo I took while walking the beaches in Florida, where
this little bird and the reflections in the shallow water caught my eye.

"Chewee - Director of Psychology"

It was so enjoyable doing portraits lately, and Chewee wanted
his portrait done too!  His Highness preferred Perylene Maroon
from Daniel Smith, and to be reclining on his favorite quilt.

"a study in reflections"

Watercolor on Strathmore 140# cold press.  While walking along Cocoa
Beach on spring break a few years ago, I came across this pair enjoying the
wonderful cooling shallow water along the shore.  I thought their reflections in
the water presented an interesting challenge!  Luckily I had my camera along
with me this time!  A beautiful, balmy day!

"Bits and Pieces"

Here is my second journal, with all pages blank and ready
to start!  On my first journal, My Sacred Refuge, I had done all
the pages first, and when finished finally tackled the cover.  This
time I felt that I would be inspired to 'get more active' if the cover was
polished and pretty and inviting...waiting!
While my first journal was my own original prose poetry, this journal will be
filled with those special fleeting poetic thoughts that often appear out of nowhere...
those thoughts that pop into my mind when inspired by nature, beauty, or
another person.  Perhaps quotes, or bits/pieces from others!
