"Chewee - Director of Psychology"

It was so enjoyable doing portraits lately, and Chewee wanted
his portrait done too!  His Highness preferred Perylene Maroon
from Daniel Smith, and to be reclining on his favorite quilt.

"a study in reflections"

Watercolor on Strathmore 140# cold press.  While walking along Cocoa
Beach on spring break a few years ago, I came across this pair enjoying the
wonderful cooling shallow water along the shore.  I thought their reflections in
the water presented an interesting challenge!  Luckily I had my camera along
with me this time!  A beautiful, balmy day!

"Bits and Pieces"

Here is my second journal, with all pages blank and ready
to start!  On my first journal, My Sacred Refuge, I had done all
the pages first, and when finished finally tackled the cover.  This
time I felt that I would be inspired to 'get more active' if the cover was
polished and pretty and inviting...waiting!
While my first journal was my own original prose poetry, this journal will be
filled with those special fleeting poetic thoughts that often appear out of nowhere...
those thoughts that pop into my mind when inspired by nature, beauty, or
another person.  Perhaps quotes, or bits/pieces from others!

"Dedicated to Miss Laura"

Watercolor on Strathmore 140# cold press.  Original is 6 x 9.
This completes this series of portraits of my three lovely nieces!  How fun
it was.  I have found I am loving doing portraits, and want to keep learning
and improving on technique.

"Happy Birthday Colleen Jr"

How fun to do a stamping project again!  While I do love watercolor,
I've been so deep into it that it was a nice to take a break and make a card!

At long last, the cover for my poetry art journal is finally finished.  It is a basic watercolor
journal, 140# cold press.  For this cover, I used a combination of gesso, die cuts, stencils
and stencil paste, shimmering mist sprays, Adirondack reinkers, ribbon and gems.
